Hairstory, Hair Regimen & Hair Talk!

This has been a MAJA' request from my subbies, and I'm so happy to finally be posting my hair regimen!!! It has changed quite a bit since I first started my hair journey. I used to do this routine 2-3times a week and had a whole bunch of products in rotation.... BUT.... you live and you learn. I've learned how to listen to my hair, my routine has simplified so much, and my hair is thriving! ENJOY!

Current Hair Regimen ~ Fall 11'

SPECS..

I wash my hair every Wednesday; middle of the week so my hair looks fresh for the weekend & on into the week =)
Trim/Dust ends every 2months.
I moisturize daily & seal with an oil of my choice when necessary which is usually once everyday.

- Wash Day Wednesday -

1. Hot oil treatment for 30 minutes with an oil of my choice throughout the length of my hair, & on my scalp.

2. I then shampoo w/ Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo*** FAV or Oblicha Treatment Shampoo.

3. T-shirt dry & divide into 4 sections.

4. Apply *MOISTURIZING* DC throughout length of hair & scalp.

5. STEAM with DC for 1 - 1.5 hours , rinse and apply final rinse of cold water.

6. T-shirt dry, apply serums/ heat protectant, detangle, Blow-dry or Air dry

7. Flat Iron, Pin curl, apply silk scarf/bonnet =)

*** I am extremely protein sensitive, so I Henna only when I feel its needed.

~ STYLING & PROFILIN'~

• I sleep in a silk scarf EVERY night. (Boo doesn't like it much LOL)

• The first couple of days, I like to enjoy my hair and wear it down. After I will keep my hair clipped up and my ends protected!

• I do not comb my hair much throughout the week to avoided unnecessary manipulation. I "finger-comb". I also rarely use a brush, and when I do it is a "boar bristle" brush.

• At night, I moisturize my hair , seal with an oil of my choice, pin-curl and cover with my silk scarf.

• Scalp massage 1x a week with oil of my choice.

Jurlique Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer ~ Hands down the best sanitizer I've used so far. The safflower oil is a great moisturizing property that doesn't leave your hands feeling "greasy. Perfect for the upcoming cold seasons!

Jouer Lip Enhancer ~ MY SAMPLE BROKE :(

I did get the chance to test it out and I love that it contains Shea butter, Vitamin E, and Jojoba oil. It really does hydrate your lips, and has a nice smooth consistency. It claims to have "maxi-lip", which increases blood flow to your lips without any stinging. I did not experience any "plumping" effect.

INCOCO Nail Polish Applique ~ I actually received the leopard print design I was hoping for, but these strips are not up to par. They claim to adhere and form to the shape of your nail but I did not find that to be true.
LIV GRN Natural Eau De Parfum ~ This scent makes me so HAPPY. Its honestly my favorite sample from this birchbox , and I plan on purchasing the full size soon. I love the fact that it is all natural, and ec0- friendly. #WINWIN

All & all im NOT IMPRESSED...BUT... Ill give it one more chance, so look out for Octobers box! :)

Lucky for me purple was still available! This pair features a peep toe , as well as a slingback design .. SO CHIC! I love the design & color of the shoe but these will be going back. They run very small and the back of my foot hangs out a little too much for my liking. ( NOT CUTE)

This pair is from the "signature pink" collection & features the "pink bottom".

Honestly its not the most comfortable shoe to walk in but the sexiness, and unique pop of color at the bottom makes this shoe a great buy. I cant wait to play up some outfits with these babies!

My very good friend Miah had her 1st video shoot!!! Miah is an up & coming rapper/singer who has been doing her thing for a little over 3 years now. When she called me to do her makeup I was definitely mulling over the looks I wanted to create for her shots in the video.

Call time was 7am, and we went for a very simple bronzed look with a nude pink lip.

Before/After

For the performance scence we went for a dark vampy vibe w/ a dark purple smokey eye & purple lip.

We later changed it to mauve pink!

Yankee Doodles & 3rd Street

July 9th marked my Lil Bro's 18th birthday. He decided on Yankee Doodles! GREAT CHOICE. It was a celebration with family, friends , love & laughs. The food was amazing & overall it was a pretty kick ass day.

The Obliphica hairline is ♥!

The shampoo is lovely with a powdery scent. It leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean but not stripped. It is not as moisturizing as my Shea Moisture Retention Shampoo, but still gets the job done. When cleaning your hair you do not need a lot of product at all! It lathers up nicely, has UV protection, and is PH balanced. Can we say AWESOMEness?? ^_^

MY FAV!!!! The Obliphica hair mask is a holy grail item for me! This mask detangles, moisturizes, adds shine, and softens my hair! Since using this mask I've noticed a change in the overall health of my hair. It is more manageable, bouncier, fuller, and I noticed I do not have to moisturize my hair as frequently (score)! This is definitely a treat for your hair. I would recommend this mask to anyone with dry, chemically treated or damaged hair. Its the best I've tried so far =)

It has a creamy consistency but is not very thick. The orange color is all derived from the Obliphica plant.

Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque 12oz

My FAV!! I usually leave this on for about 30mins-1hr and my hair is so soft. This mask increases the elasticity in my hair stands and allows me to further maintain my length. This is definitely a staple. I have also used it as a leave in but i prefer using it for DC.

Ingredients: De-ionized water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter), Argan oil, vegetable glycerin, emulsifying wax, sea kelp extract, Panthenol (vitamin B-5), essential oil blend, avocado oil, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Hyssopus Officinalis Extract, Salvia Officinalis (sage) leaf and Equisetum Arvense Extract, soybean oil and Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) seed oil.

Shea Moisture Retention Shampoo 8oz

This is an amazing shampoo, it is very gentle & lathers great. This leaves the hair feeling very clean without stripping the hair stand. IT DETANGLES!!, smells great and has organic ingredients. I usually use this after a pre-poo but the shampoo is so moisturizing you could probably skip pre-pooing.

Ingredients: De-ionized water, Decyl Glucoside (sugar beets), African Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter) (denotes certified organic ingredients), aloe vera leaf juice, Argan Oil, Panthenol (pro-vitamin B-5, rosemary extract, sea kelp extract, vitamin E, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract.

SHEA MOISTURE RESTORATIVE CONDITIONER 8oz

This conditioner is very moisturizing! Great for co-washing and can also be used as a leave-in. It leaves my hair soft and smelling great.

Ingredients: De-ionized water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter)*, Argan oil, coconut oil*, Behentrimonium chloride, essential oil blend, vegetable glycerin, emulsifying wax, sea kelp extract, Panthenol (vitamin B-5), avocado oil, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract, Tocopherol (vitamin E) and Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) seed oil.

Shea Moisture Hold & Shine Moisture Mist- 8oz

This is great when I'm wearing a braid out because I'm allowed to moisturize my hair with little manipulation! It instantly hydrates my hair and leaves a great shine. Smells great & gives a slight hold.

Ingredients : De-ionized water, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter)*, silk protein, essential oil blend, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) seed oil, algae extract, Hyssopus Officinalis extract, Salvia Officinalis (sage) leaf and Equisetum Arvense extract, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract and Tocopherol (vitamin E).

SHEA MOISTURE STRENGTHENING ELIXIR -4oz

This is a great shine serum. It is lightweight and absorbs into the hair strand instead of just sitting on top of your hair. This elixir can also be used as a hot-oil treatment.

Ingredients: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter) oil*, Argan oil, Vegetable Squalene, carrot oil, macadamia nut oil, Isopropyl Myristate, avocado oil, castor oil, Sebacic acid, sea kelp extract, essential oil blend, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract and Tocopherol (vitamin E).

LOVE THIS!!! Leaves my skin uberrrr soft & it smells great. I chose it for its brightening & toning properties & I am very happy with the results!

Trust & believe it IS appreciated. Ok ok ok now n' case you missed it this is the most recent video posted and I have reviewed VATIKA coconut oil by DABUR ~~~>

Ordinary shampoo formulations results in protein loss during washing. =( Coconut oil can minimize protein loss, as it contains the medium-chain triglycerides that can pass through the cell membrane and waterproof the scalp and hair.

Contains Vitamin-E which keeps scalp and skin healthy and hair rejuvenated!

Coconut Oil also has a high moisture retaining capacity, since it is not broken down easily nor evaporated, being very stable. It does not let moisture escape thus keeping hair moistened and soft. This prevents breakage of hair. =)

Coconut oil has also softened my hair texture & made it extremely managable! I must say that I like REGULAR extra virgin coconut oil because I prefer the smell of that compared to VATIKA's ! Litrally when I apply it to my hair it is INSTANTLY soft! I usually pre-poo, and deep condition with this oil. I ocassionally use the oil to "seal" my hair as well! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Today was my good friend HELENA's B-DAY ! Me & her have been working 2gether since Nov. and she is the BEST! She is so sweet & thoughtful, and the easiest person to talk to! My friend Arlin & I decided to surprise her for her special day... we bought balloons & a giant card , decorated her office with cute little birthday cutouts, and of course had the 7- Eleven ICED COFFEE's on deck ( our fav.) lol. Later that day her boyfriend surprised her by having a HUGE bouquet of flowers and a cute little teddy bear delivered. It was the sweetest thing EVER! She was so happy & that was a great thing to see because she really deserves it =)

SOOO... i FINALLY recieved my prize from Earthern Glow Minerals, for placing 2nd place in MUFFINISMYLOVERS 50's, 60, and 80's contest... if you missed it here is the link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLeJglbKeUk. .. butttt yeah so it was a couple of of mix-ups 1. When i finally placed my order the code didnt work.. 2. When the code finally work I guess it hadn't been approved by the staff so that took an extra 1 1/2 weeks , but i emailed DIANE on all occasions and she handled all my problems very quickly and was extremely professional! She ended up shipping my items the day after we spoke and i recieved my things in 2 days =) ... I CANT even complian IT WAS FREE!!! lol BUT I REALLY LOVE the colors they are sooo beautiful and pigmented.
